• Avoid strong sun exposure, tanning, or sunburn on the scalp.
• Discontinue use of active skincare products (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) on the scalp.
• Do not have Botox, fillers, PRP, microneedling, or chemical peels on the scalp for at least 2 weeks prior.
• Advise us if you have any scalp conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis.
• Let us know if you are taking blood-thinning medication, antibiotics, or anything that affects healing.

🧴 3–5 Days Before Treatment

• Moisturise the scalp daily with a lightweight, fragrance-free lotion to keep skin hydrated.
• If you shave your head, use a gentle razor and avoid causing cuts or irritation.
• Do not use harsh shampoos, medicated treatments, or exfoliants on the scalp.

📍 On the Day of Your Appointment

• Arrive with a clean scalp — freshly washed and free of hair products, oils, or moisturisers.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol to help reduce sensitivity and potential bleeding.
• If you usually shave your head, do so the night before to minimise redness or irritation.
• Wear comfortable clothing that can be removed without rubbing over your scalp.

Immediately after your treatment, the scalp may appear slightly red and the pigment dots may look darker than the final healed result. Redness usually subsides within 24–72 hours. Over the next 5–7 days, the pigment will soften, and the scalp may experience light flaking as it heals.

• Stay away from swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, and heavy exercise until healed.
• From day 5 onwards, you may gently rinse the scalp with lukewarm water and pat dry — avoid shampoos until after day 7.
• Do not apply hair products, oils, or moisturisers until the scalp is fully healed.

Scalp tattooing, also known as Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that implants pigment into the scalp to replicate the look of natural hair follicles. While safe for most clients, certain conditions may make this treatment unsuitable or require medical clearance before proceeding.

You may NOT be eligible for scalp tattooing if you have or are currently experiencing:

• Active scalp infections, cuts, sores, or dermatitis
• Uncontrolled diabetes or impaired wound healing
• Blood clotting disorders or taking blood thinning medications
• History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
• Autoimmune skin conditions such as lupus, psoriasis, eczema, or vitiligo affecting the scalp
• Severe allergies to pigments, lidocaine, or epinephrine
• Use of Roaccutane or isotretinoin in the past 6–12 months
• Skin cancer, suspicious lesions, or undiagnosed growths on the scalp (requires clearance)
• Pregnancy — cosmetic tattooing is not performed while pregnant
• Under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs on the day of treatment
